📝 Our Review

Jennifer Garner carries this film on her shoulders, and she's more than up for it. As Christy Beam, a mother desperately fighting for her sick daughter, Garner brings a raw, unglamorous intensity that elevates what could have been a Hallmark-level story into something genuinely moving. The film doesn't sugarcoat the family's ordeal. Young Annabel's illness is depicted with uncomfortable realism — the hospital visits, the specialist rejections, the financial strain. The family's faith actually wavers, which is refreshing for the genre. Christy has a crisis moment in church where she's angry at God, and the film doesn't punish her for it. Kylie Rogers as Annabel is excellent, playing sick without ever tipping into saccharine territory. The near-death experience sequence is handled with restraint rather than CGI spectacle. Whether you believe in miracles or not, the film presents its case honestly and lets you decide. The only weak point is some pacing issues in the middle act, but the emotional payoff is real.
